Catherine E. Newman

My research background is in phylogeography, population genetics, and ecology of salamanders in the US Gulf Coastal Plain. My current research in the Day Lab at UAB focuses on genetic and epigenetic responses to substance abuse in the brain using single-cell analyses. I am also interested in how we can improve science education and science literacy.
